Oculus announced that sandbox application "Toybox" will come free for all its Touch users after its release.

The app "Toybox" is one of the few that showcases the awesome features of Oculus. That is why it's one of the most anticipated apps in the world, Road to VR reported.

Palmer Luckey, who is the founder of Oculus, called the app an art for the programmer. That's because the console only featured "Toybox" then and nothing else.

Origins of Oculus Rift

Virtual reality finally became a reality back in 2010, when Palmer Luckey created his VR headset, which later on became what is now the Oculus Rift.

After making his first prototype of the technology, he launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for a price of $250,000, Sci Tech Today reported. It garnered a total of $2.4 million. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg later on bought Luckey's company for $2 billion.

Oculus Touch easily made an impression among audiences in that expo. However, the Touch software was still at its early days back then.

Release Date on Dec 6

Oculus Touch will be released on December 6, and Oculus' Head of Content Jason Rubin tweeted that "Toybox" will debut at the launch. This could only mean that the general public will have the chance to enjoy this amazing app. This tweet was later confirmed by Oculus itself.

The players of the app are joined together using a networked system. They will communicate through Oculus Rift's integrated microphone. In the app, players will have block to stack, table tennis bats, shrink rays, slingshots, fireworks, and many more.

Oculus also announced that there will be 50 titles for its day-one launch, but for those who plan to pre-order Touch, they can have free pieces of content, including First Contact, Dead and Buried, Medium, Oculus Quill Beta, Robo Recall, The Unspoken, and VR Sports Challenge.
