A few days ago, Google seeded Developer Preview 2 and it is only a matter of days to the official Nougat update for the Nexus devices.
Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Nexus devices
The public release for Android 7.1 Nougat update will likely happen on Dec. 6. According to DigitalTrends, the Developer Preview 2 participants are currently running Nougat beta version before the final update is released on the announced date.
Android 7.1 Nougat rollout news has also been spotted in a report coming from Australia, where Vodafone has listed the OS update rollout schedule for Nexus 6P device with the number NMF26F. According to the source, the update will take up 650 MB of space.
If the plan is on track, Nexus 6P and a few other Nexus devices will receive the update. Motorola has been ahead of the others when it comes to rolling out Nougat update for its devices.
It is expected that LG Nexus 5X, Huawei Nexus 9, Asus Nexus Player and Google Pixel C will be right behind Nexus 6P in receiving the latest firmware.
Android 7.1.1 Nougat update features and Daydream VR compatibility
It would be exciting to see the new firmware lets devices to have multi-window feature and new notification orders but Daydream VR may not be available in those smartphones due to the hardware incompatibility.
However, users can still expect cool skin launcher like the one in Google Pixel phones plus new Storage Manager, as reported by AndroidPIT.
As for now, Nexus 6P users should wait for the firmware update OTA availability. Users can also download Android 7.1 Nougat from the 'Setting' option inside the 'About Device' menu.
