The teaser just got released for exciting new horror/thriller "The Belko Experiment" directed by Greg McLean and written by James Gunn. Office workers of Belko thought it was a normal day when metal doors come sliding down on all the exits of the high rise building in Bogota, Colombia and a voice on the PA system informs the employees that they must kill their co-workers or be killed themselves.
The office workers at the Belko Experiment end up engaging in a gory blood fest when they see that several employees' heads are suddenly chopped off by a mysterious force, according to Gizmodo. Temporary alliances are formed and friendships are forgotten in this bloody fight to the finish.
It is no secret the Belko Experiment borrows from Battle Royale, The Hunger Games and Office Space. Battle Royale is a Japanese movie where students are stuck in an island and they have no alternative but to kill each other until only one is left standing. The Hunger Games follows a similar premise but the participants are trained mercenaries. Office Space is a TV comedy series following a group of employees and their boss.
Greg McLean is no stranger in the horror genre as he previously directed Rogue, Wolf Creek and its sequel. James Gunn is also not new to horror movies as he previously wrote Dawn of the Dead, Scooby-Doo and its sequel. Their concept is not original but it is an exciting one that will surely please the average horror movie fan.
The Belko Experiment made its debut at the Toronto Film Festival last September but won't be shown in theatres until March 17, 2017. The film has a star-studded cast according to IMDB including familiar faces like Michael Rooker, Tony Goldwyn, Mikaela Hoover, Sean Gunn, Adria Arjona, Josh Brener and Abraham Benrubi. This film ends up marking the fourth time star Michael Rooker and writer James Gunn have collaborated after Slither, Guardians of the Galaxy and Super.
