After the previous benchmark and FCC databases sightings, Samsung's Galaxy J3 (2017) might be going for a Dec. 1 launch after a leaked press render reveals the smartphone's specs and release date.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy J3 in 2015 that was followed with an upgraded Galaxy J3 Pro earlier this year. Now, a fresh image leak from famous tipster, Evan Blass, revealed that J3 Pro's successor, Galaxy J3 (2017), is expected to hit the shelves soon.

Via a Twitter post by Blass, known as @evleaks, he posts: "Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) [note: this is SM-J327P, not SM-J3119, which is the J3 Pro]."

According to HNGN, the said render shows a design similar to the 2016 model. It is a rectangular smartphone bearing the company's familiar home button at the bottom. The power button is delicately placed on the right side, with the volume keys housed on the left. The Galaxy J3 (2017) has rounded corners.

Based on previous leaked benchmarks, Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) was initially spotted on Geekbench followed by Indian export-import website Zauba.

According to Geekbench, the Galaxy J3 (2017) carries an octa-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.4 GHz paired with 2GB RAM. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Samsung's TouchWiz UI skin.

In another listing by Indian export-import site Zauba, the smartphone is expected to be priced at Rs 6,800. The J3 (2016) was launched at Rs 8,990, IndiaToday reported.

If the leaked specs will be true, the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) is expected to carry a Snapdragon 430 MSM8937 octa-core CPU. It is also said to feature an 8-megapixel rear camera and a decent 2,600 mAh battery under the hood.

The earlier version of J3 (2017) was first introduced in India on March 2015. The phone came with the S-bike mode feature, a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 294 ppi pixel density.

In addition, it is equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory, expandable by up to 128GB via microSD card. The dualSIM phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop-based TouchWiz UI and supports 4G LTE connectivity.

In a separate Zauba listing, information on the pricing of Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) is pegged at Rs. 6,800, and is rumored to launch in India soon. However, this information is not yet confirmed by Samsung, even the phone's launching date.
