'Constantine' Actor Matt Ryan Talks At Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, Hopeful For Season 2
By"Constantine" may be done as a TV series but that didn't stop actor Matt Ryan, who played the title role, from talking about it at the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest. He thanked all the fans for their support and he says there might be a possibility in the future that "Constantine Season 2" happens but that's not a guarantee.
Ryan also said that it meant a lot for him to play such an iconic role and all the fans' support meant so much to him. It is pretty clear fans want another season of "Constantine" and they made their voice heard via message board posts and Twitter posts using various hashtags like #ConstantineSeason2 and #WeWantSeason2forConstantine. It remains to be seen when or if production will start for a second season but Matt Ryan looks like he is the ideal guy for the role.
NBC showed "Constantine" from October of 2014 to February of 2015. It also stars Charles Halford as Chas Chandler, Angelica Celaya as Zed Martin and Harold Perrineau as Manny.
The TV series is based on the DC comics of the same name. A movie was already made based on it starring Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf and Max Baker. The plot is about a detective enlisting the help of Constantine in proving her twin sister's death was not a suicide. This leads with Constantine finding out that demons are trying to break into the human world.
Fans were previously hoping NBC would renew Constantine for another season. Even if NBC decided to not renew Constantine for another season, the character ended up appearing in other DC Comics inspired TV series including the Green Arrow on its fourth season on the CW network. Matt Ryan will also voice John Constantine in the upcoming animated movie Justice League Dark.
