'The Elder Scrolls 6' News & Update: Release Date Confirmed? Issues With Bethesda's Essential NPC
ByHalf a decade has passed and fans of the widely-acclaimed video game, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," are still enthralled by the game's vast open-world, customization, and rich story-line. As such, gamers are on the look out for the latest update and news as to whether or not the development of "The Elder Scrolls 6" is on its way. Moreover, critics have also pointed out that Bethesda needs to improve the essential NPCs for the 'The Elder Scrolls 6," according to sources.
Apart from most of the rumors that have been circulating around, it would seem that the latest news indicate that there is still that possibility that "The Elder Scrolls 6" will be released sometime in the future, University Herald learned.
It was recently reported that Bethesda's Todd Howard may have indeed confirmed "The Elder Scroll 6" to be in development, Gamespot noted. However, he further stated that it is not a big and active project for Bethesda Studios right now.
Howard stressed that they are focusing on some other projects that they have going on. As for "The Elder Scrolls 6," Howard intends to tread carefully on the expectations of fans and simply said that it would certainly be a game that Bethesda will be working on one day.
As such, some critics have also pointed out that Bethesda Studios ought to improve on the game's essential NPCs (Non Player Characters), Gamingbolt reported. The source recounted the experience of one gamer where he couldn't progress further into the game since one of the essential NPCs of the game have died in-game without fault on theirs.
The challenge has then been posed to Bethesda on how they could address the issue of maintaining the open-world, consequential and permanence gameplay of "The Elder Scrolls 6" without hindering players to progress in the game when an essential NPC suddenly dies.
Gamingbolt then went on to suggest a thing or two on what they think would be a good solution for this. One of which would be to make the essential NPC unkillable until the player reaches a certain point in the story. The other solution would be to make certain quests (tied to an essential NPC) have back ups, such as reverting to a dungeon or hidden location, in case the said NPC suddenly dies or disappears.
In any case, it would seem that fans can still cling on to their hopes of having "The Elders Scrolls 6" sometime in the future.
