Mercy College, NY announces its latest Internship Grant Program which gives opportunities to any eligible students to develop skills and build connections with professionals, significant in the marketplace. Finally, for the first time in Mercy College, a grant worth $1,500 is awarded to fitting students that stand empowered and prepared to do a for-credit internship.
This is great news for our students who are seeking for all possible means to find a solid ground where dreams can be put to be realized. Internship is the application of both knowledge and theories to real-world scenarios.
What is most special about this program is that it eliminates all possible barriers in order for students to fully enjoy the incentives of internship. Through the $1,500 grant, students will never enjoy internship the same way ever again, Jill Hart, Senior Director of Career and Professional Development at Mercy College, said in PR Web.
The latest for-credit internship program at Mercy College is only applicable to students taking up 380, 381 and 399 courses. Accordingly, the program requires students to maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and that they must be permanent residents in the US.
All-in-all, there are 33 grants available in the program, all managed by a selection committee consisting of students and a few faculty members. This committee ensures that the nomination is well-proceeded and that the applicants meet the criteria to the tee, the Impact News reported.
By all means the application process for the latest Internship Grant Program is genuinely competitive. Thus, even before the offering started, interested students were already advised by the school to establish a clear objective between internship and career actions.
Despite the nature of the grant, this type of financial aid is not answerable to other financial aids and award-giving bodies. Nevertheless, it will still be categorized under the taxable income category, Mercy College News Room reported.
