American actor Michael Rooker says he prefers playing Marvel's "Gaurdians of the Galaxy" character Yondu than Merle Dixon of AMC's "The Walking Dead" after being asked during the Guardians panel at the Heroes & Villaines Fan Fest.

Rooker was quick to point his character and revealed that playing Yondu is much better than playing Merle Dixon's character.

One reason that factored in heavily with Rooker is the shorter schedule and bigger pay when he plays Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy. In the Walking Dead, he has to stay in the location where the shoot is being held but in shooting his scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy, he just needs to be in different scenes for a short period of time. That could mean more projects on the side, which means more income for Rooker.

Another factor is Rooker has a lot more fun playing Yondu because he can basically do anything he wants in the movie plus he is blue and that's always cool. In the sequel to The Guardians of the Galaxy, Yondu also has a bigger role than what he had in the first film. Merle Dixon seems to be going downhill in the Walking Dead though as he started the series handcuffed to a roof and it was not long before he got turned into a zombie.

Michael Rooker has been an actor for quite a long time as he is most famous for his roles as Henry in the horror movie Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Hal Tucker in action movie Cliffhanger opposite Sylvester Stallone and Grant Grant in the creature movie Slither. His latest movie, The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled to hit theatres nationwide on May 5, 2017.
