Netflix has only released two trailers of Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events" so far and the buzz about the adaptation has reached new heights especially because of Neil Patrick Harris' take on the Count Olaf role. Trailers show his version of the evil Count is way better than Jim Carrey's. But is the entire new series any better than its movie counterpart?

Neil Patrick Harris wigs it out in Netflix' "A Series of unfortunate Events" promising fans an awesome new experience in Lemony Snicket's story of the Baudelaire siblings who are terrorized by their remaining uncle after their parent's untimely deaths. The audiences will once again be taken into the world of Count Olaf's cunning where hopes of happy endings are too bleak, USA Today reported.

The new trailer shows the lives of the young Baudelaires unfolding in a series of misery, misfortune, and despair as the original. The key difference though is NPH's take on the Count Olaf character that Jim Carrey made popular in 2004. The trailer shows NPH is veering towards the more sinister character of the Count than the comedic that Jim Carrey portrayed.

Fans already know that the Count will stop at nothing to get the fortune that the Baudelaire's parents left for them. He will acquire different disguises and kill people who get in his way. It's rife with mystery and darkness; more ever than the movie has.

The new trailers show noticeable changes, Metro UK reported. Like for example, Jude Law narrating as Lemony Snicket showed only his silhouette. For the new Netflix series, Patrick Warburton's face is actually shown in the camera. Warburton is also distinctly American, compared to Jude Law who had English accent in the movie.

In the movie, Violet, who is the eldest of the siblings, wears Victorian style clothing. In the Netflix series, Vi wears wholesome pink frock which makes her look lovelier and younger than her movie counterpart. Baby Sunny also ditched the long and impractical baby dresses and wears shorter baby-friendly ones.

Netflix' "A Series of Unfortunate Events" will air January 13, 2017.
