Jonathan Nolan, one of the showrunners of hit yet infinitely confusing HBO series Westworld, recently made a fan's day when he entered into a Reddit thread with a GIF that answers one of the many mysteries of the show.
In perhaps a huge LOL moment for Nolan, Reddit almost crashed yesterday when he teased Westworld fans a deleted scene. A Reddit user named mattdezine posted a picture of Rachel Evan Wood on a vast field painting horses, Slash film reported.
Mattdezine asked what happened to the 10,950 paintings that Wood's character painted. He didn't expect a reply of course but lo' and behold! Nolan replied with a GIF showing a Westworld park technician flipping through the paintings, which were stacked in the Abernathy farmhouse.
The writer then captioned it "doesn't look like anything to me," which is one of the common phrases that hosts use when they stumble upon something they're not supposed to see, Polygon reported.
Fans theorized further that Nolan posted a deleted scene of a pilot episode. They're specifically talking about the episode where park technicians searched Dolores' farmhouse when her father suffered a breakdown after discovering a modern photograph.
The subreddit for Wetworld is where fans put on their theories and discussions over the scenes of the show and where it's actually headed. Never has it happened that one of the show's creators or anyone else from the show has entered into conversations with fans to discuss Westworld. Nolan's was the first.
Beforehand, Nolan also commented about an issue with his lurking habits. One Reddit fan proclaimed Nolan lurking on Reddit, to which Nolan himself replied, he most definitely does not.
Westworld subreddit has over 100,000 active members. The show just aired its seventh out of ten episodes and there's obviously less episodes left before the show closes its first season. Westworld has been renewed for the second season, but won't air until 2018 because the executives from HBO wanted to give more time to Nolan and other showrunner, Lisa Joy, to play out the plots for the next season.
