“Gilmore Girls” Netflix Revival Surprises, Teaser Trailers; Will It Recapture The Magic? [VIDEO]
ByThe "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life" will soon premiere in Netflix. As the day nears, fans are highly anticipating what is in store for the three generations of Gilmore girls especially when the Gilmore patriarch is now gone. Fans are also eager to know if the rebooted "Gilmore Girls" will recapture the magic that they once had ten years ago.
Netflix has made it possible for a "Gilmore Girls" revival that is not as taxing as a series and not as fleeting even for a two hours movie. The newest format will only feature four episodes at ninety minutes each.
Creators Amy Sherman Palladino with husband, Dan Palladino, wanted the revival to be for the fans who have been loyal since the show debuted in 2000 and up until its season finale in 2007. The show had had a good running until Sherman-Palladino had a creative difference with Warner Brothers and left the series in 2006. Ratings soon plunged and the show was cancelled in CW as reported in the Hollywood Reporter.
It was only upon the death of Edward Herrmann (Richard Gilmore) in 2014 and the succeeding reunion of the "Gilmore Girls" cast in 2015 that a revival was floated and pitched soon after. Netflix approved the concept and the rest is, as they say, history.
A sneak peak of what has become of the "Gilmore girls" Netflix revival has been released in the show's teaser trailer. The newest trailer is a typical Gilmore Girl conversation. Lorelai (Lauren Graham) tells Rory (Alexis Bledel) who was not wearing any underwear that an outfit "without underwear is going to be your lucky outfit" as reported by E! Online.
Meanwhile, the "Gilmore Girls" Netflix revival will also feature a grieving Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop) at the loss of her husband. She shows this in an uncharacteristically bad way of dressing. Mrs. Gilmore has always been well poised and neatly dressed, which only shows that her ill-fitting jeans could be her new way of coping.
"Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life" premieres on Netflix on Nov. 25. Fans are hoping that the magic that is typical of the Gilmore Girls will once again be captured in the revival. As of now, "Gilmore Girls" followers can only wait and see. Previous seasons of "Gilmore Girls" are also available for streaming in Netflix.
