Ubisoft will be making the next "Assassin's Creed" games with less scripting in the future. There might be no sequels coming in 2017 for the game franchise.

Next "Assassin's Creed" title to have less scripting

Since the start of the "Assassin's Creed" franchise, Ubisoft has followed a very strict formula with their games and that is to produce at least one title for each year. This approach has now proven to have some flaws in it, which is why the company has expressed their intentions to change that for future game titles. They are going to change it by providing a less-scripted game experiences for the players to make it a unique experience again.

Ubisoft CCO speaks up for next "Assassin's Creed" focus

Ubisoft CCO Serge Hascoet told French newspaper Le Monde in an exclusive interview that there were some restrictions of the narratives of past "Assassin's Creed" video games in the past, and how they will change that it in the future. He said that they want the players to have more freedom when they explore the game worlds from the franchise. This will allow them to do whatever they want without constricting them to do things in a certain direction because it had a narrative structure.

Hascoet said that the video game franchise has also remained a narrative game due to the stories introduced and the historical people like the Borgias, the Medicis, Leonardo da Vinci, and many more. This time around, they want players to meet these characters without being limited by the game.

"Watch Dogs 2" getting that focus first, "Assassin's Creed" franchise next

Apparently, "Watch Dogs 2" is already having that kind of focus, which is already gaining a lot of praise from the players. "Assassins' Creed" will follow suit soon and will take full advantage of the new ideology.
