Players of the newly released NBA2K17 are used to playing it on a couch and just like any other video game they play, this isn't healthy. However, wearable fitness tracker company Fitbit and NBA2K17 formed a partnership to get players meet daily fitness goals in order to be in better shape.

It was revealed in the partnership that NBA 2K17 players who were able to meet the daily quota of 10,000 steps will get a temporary boost in their created player in the popular MyPlayer mode. This will make them improve their created player's performance by doing options such as increasing its stats such as agility, dunks or even layups. This would obviously improve the created player's performance in the digital basketball court which would result in more wins for the player's team.

NBA2K17 is the first video game to incorporate fitness tracking technology into a video game. It is a great idea as players will now be motivated to become more active since it would result into a better performance for their created player.

The +5 that can be applied to the created player's stats will disappear after 5 games but players don't need to worry because they can get another +5 by achieving another 10,000 steps. If they are the type that walk at least 5 miles from work to home and back from Mondays to Fridays every week then they would have no problem accomplishing that feat.

Dallas Mavericks forward Harrison Barnes has been a fan of NBA2K games ever since he was a player in college up until now and he loves the partnership of NBA2K17 and Fitbit. He thinks it provides a little bit of fun into the workout schedules of the players while giving them unique rewards in the end.
