EA DICE confirmed that it will release in the near future an updated version of the popular action-shooter game "Star Wars Battlefront."

DICE's Dennis Brännvall confirmed in a Tweet that "Star Wars Battlefront" will get the updates it needs and it will be released along with the Rogue One DLC and VR experience, iDigital Times reported. He said that the team is set to deliver the DLC that will connect to the movie and the first ever Star Wars VR experience.

The stand-alone game will be called Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: Scarif, Gottabemobile reported. There were earlier reports stating that the fourth installment to the Star Wars Battlefront franchise will be released early 2017. However, that has changed. Now, it seems that the new video game will be released alongside the movie in December.

The new Star Wars Battlefront patch is definitely a needed update as many fans got disappointed with the countless glitches in the game. Bugs made it difficult for players to enjoy the Heroes Vs. Villains matches. Longtime invisibility also becomes a loophole that certain players are taking advantage of.

However, there are still no specific information on what to really expect on the updated Battlefront patch set to be released on December. But fans can be certain that DICE have noted those glitches and are making the right fixes for those particular issues.

Last July, the Rogue One DLC was announced. Fans learned that the new game, which is based on the movie, will feature the planet Scarif. This is a beach planet, which means fans should expect some tropical maps. Jyn Erso and Director Orson Krennic will also be featured in the game. These characters play a big role in the upcoming Rogue One movie.

Fans can expect that the Rogue One: Scarif DLC will have a price close to its three predecessors. This means, the new game will probably cost around $15.

There are reports that Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: Scarif DLC will be the last patch for Battlefront. EA DICE, however, hinted that there will be a new Battlefront 2, where the content will be moving away from the old Star Wars story and tie-in to the newer movies in the franchise, which are set to be released in the years to come.
