Ford is finally bringing the 2018 Ecosport stateside. It will receive a face-lift with several techie goodies on the inside and also claims to be the first vehicle to be revealed on Snapchat.

The move is Ford's play to get in on the booming subcompact crossover market in the U.S. It was a little surprising because the company was one of the first contenders in the compact crossover game back in 2000 with the Ford Escape. However, they are planning a plethora of options catering to the tastes of millenials, like making the Ecosport viewable on Snapchat on top of the more traditional showroom displays.

The 2018 Ford Ecosport will be available with several options. Consumers will have a choice of two powertrains: A 1.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost inline-3 and a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated inline-4. It will also come with four trim levels of varying price with S, SE, SES and Titanium options, Motor Trend reported.

Both powertrains will have a six-speed automatic transmission. However, Ford isn't ready to reveal the final output figures. As neither of the two engines has been mated to the transmission before, testing is still required. Moreover, the Ecosport will be built on the company's B-segment platform familiar with the Ford Fiesta, Car and Driver reported.

Ford is reportedly targeting the younger market or millenials with the 2018 Ford Ecosport. The company is giving them the option of ten exterior colors and seven interior ambient lighting choices with 30 storage spaces scattered all-over. Also, the interior will receive an 8-inch touchsreen infotainment system powered by Ford's Sync 3 software and two USB ports up-front. There will be two 12-volt outlets for the front and the rear and an optional 110-volt outlet in the back. Furthermore, for extra price, the Titanium models will have a 675-watt B&O Play audio system, touting 10 speakers strewn through-out the cabin.

The price is still anyone's guess since Ford has not given that information. On the other hand, the 2018 Ford Ecosport is slated for launch early 2018.
