Game developer Bungie has just announced plans to integrate the live streaming platform Twitch directly into the Destiny Companion site, adding new features specific to the Destiny game.

Twitch is a live streaming video platform that was introduced in June 2011 as a spin-off of the general-interest streaming platform Justin.tv. The site, which is currently owned by Amazon. The platform focuses on video gaming, eSports competitions, playthroughs of video games, creative content and even music contents. Twitch's content can either be broadcast live or through video on demand.

The first-person shooter video game is in a constant state evolution, adding more feature and updates in the past few months. Developer Bungie is always on the hunt, looking for ways on how it can make gameplay experience better.

However, today's update is quite different. It gives Destiny fans the help they're looking for. Twitch is finally coming to Destiny Companion app, adding some few extra features and competitive stakes.

Streaming games on Twitch has never been an issue for Destiny, but the action-packed game has always had to compete with streaming giants like the Riot Games' League of Legends, the Valve Corporation's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and the Blizzard Entertainment's Hearthstone, which are claimed to be as the most viewed games on Twitch. This scenario makes it less likely for Destiny fans to search and discover Destiny streamers since the game doesn't have a big presence on Twitch.

To get Destiny going, Bungie has decided to bring Destiny streams straight to the crowd by integrating Twitch's API directly into the Destiny Companion site. Bungie is also adding features to make the viewing experience better, such as displaying all of the gear that the Twitch has equipped and browsing live streams based on which quest is being done.

Like Twitch, game viewers will now able to engage and chat with fellow streamers and other even viewers the same as they have always been doing to on regular Twitch app. The move will be very useful for players who are trying to determine the effectiveness of a particular loadout, and also for the game streamers who will no longer have to waste time explaining their gear, allowing them to get directly to the task.

Bungie said the new streaming feature is not aimed at top game streamers who just play games for a living. It's for any Destiny player who wants to host their own stream on their profile page.
