Fans of "The Walking Dead" who have been following the comicbook version might have noticed the difference in some of the scenes, especially the death of one of the characters.
According to Comicbook, the death of Spencer Monroe (Austin Nichols) was modified for the television series in which he was killed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) during his visit to Alexandria. This death scene is totally different from the comicbook series where Spencer's death was self-inflicted.
Episode 4 begins when Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Rick (Andrew Lincoln) woke up next to each other when Negan arrived unexpectedly arrived in Alexandria to take some things from Rick's people. He was approached by Spencer at the gate after Rick left.
Spencer doesn't even know Negan at the time, but he was already telling Spencer his his criticism of Rick's leadership. It was an obvious display of his thirst for power and somehow hopes that Negan would see him as a leader. Negan even asked him if the Monroe family has the guts to slash his stomach and leave his gut hanging.
Negan went to Alexandria's armory only to find out that the guns went missing. Rick wanted to resist Negan, but without guns, the Alexandrians will have a problem.
In this episode, it seems that Rick and his group have lost their strength and confidence with Negan bullying them around. Rick's spirit was broken andeven gave up leadership to Negan.
Viewers also wondered why some of the main characters were not around in the other episodes, but were relieved to see some of them resume their roles.
