The latest firmware update for Sony for its 2015 and 2016 TV will introduce enhanced gaming experience for PS4, Xbox One S, and for those PS4 console owners. The anticipated Software Update Version 3.533 will fix the problems of the 2015 and 2016 Sony TV, especially the input lags of the Z9D/ZD9 models that results in the delayed rendering of image data when the high dynamic range mode in gaming is enabled.
The release of the HDR-capable Xbox One, HDR firmware update for Sony's PS4 consoles, and the HDR-enabled PS4 pro caused problems when Sony TVs only previously allow low latency Game picture presets, especially when playing standard dynamic range content. However, because of the update 3.533, it is now possible to have an HDR Game presets for pictures shown in Sony TV Models S850, X94C, X93C, X90C, X91C, S85C, X85C, X850D, X940D, and X930D. As for the European market, the update is compatible for models SD85, XD85, XD94, XD93.
As of this writing, the firmware update has been released via network update or through USB download for the European market. There is no other update yet that is related to the HDR upgrade in the update page of the Sony US Official website, according to Forbes.
So that software updates will be automatically received, it is best to turn ON the Automatic software download setting from your TV. In this manner, whenever an update is available for your device, it will automatically download. To check for a firmware, press the HOME button of the remote control, select Help in Settings, scroll down and look for System Software Update, then check for a system software update.
Your TV will then automatically search for updates and will prompt you to download should it find a new version, according to Sony UK.
