The upcoming Logan movie will feature something different, a little bit older and more battle-scarred Logan, and of course, much sharper claws.
On the official Logan Instagram account, a new shared image shows an aging Wolverine over a dead body in front of a suburban home. The setting takes place in a calm desert wasteland. The image, captioned "silence," seems to draw too much attention and fear.
Wolverine is not looking good in this new rated R film because he is living in a kind of place where every mutant is going extinct, including his entire X-Men family. It's a very scary and brutal place for mutants, something that you don't like to watch if fear blood and death. It's a violent place, the film takes place in a new timeline established after 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past where Logan made some time travel in the past to prevent Mystique's assassination of Trask.
Logan, whose healing powers started to fail because of his age, and Professor X, have joined forces to protect a young girl named Laura Kinney from a group of evil cyborgs that hunted them.
The new film will mark the tenth installment in the X-Men series and the ninth time that Hugh Jackman has played the Wolverine character on the big screen. It also the third and Jackman's final performance as the Wolverine character after having played in every entry in the popular X-Men series.
Directed by James Mongold, the film takes inspiration from the comic book series "Old Man Logan". It features Hugh Jackman as Logan, Richard Grant as Zander Rice, Boyd Holbrook as Donald Pierce, Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney, Stephen Merchant as Caliban, Doris Morgado as Maria, and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier. The film also cast Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez for undisclosed roles.
Dafne Keen, the English-Spanish child actress best known for his performance in the TV series "The Refugees", is also on board as a young cloned Logan character named Laura Kinney.
Last year, Jackman shared an image online, showing Wolverine giving the middle finger with his claw, with the hashtag #OneLastTime.
Logan is set to hit the big screens on March 3, 2017, in IMAX and premium large format.
