Despite Robert Downey Jr.'s previous confirmation about his known Marvel movie, it seems that we won't be seeing the fourth instalment of "Iron Man" in the near future. Just recently, the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige, officially announced that there has been no development happening on the movie.

In the official website of Marvel, the solo film of Downey is not at all listed in the Phase Three movie line up. Some of the movies however, namely "Avengers: Infinity War", "Black Panther" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp," are set to debut on 2018. Under 2019, "Captain Marvel" and an untitled Avengers sequel are on the line up, and also listed there, are three untitled movies slated for 2020. Maybe one of them is "Iron Man 4," Moviepilot reported.

There have been reports that Downey is allegedly asking for a huge amount of paycheck for him to portray Tony Stark in " Iron Man" again. Since Marvel Studios would want to earn for themselves also, that may have been one of the reasons why the development was put on hold, News Everyday reported.

It might as well be announced as cancelled because according to reports, Robert Downey Jr. is set to reprise his role in "Sherlock Holmes 3." This has yet to be verified by the man himself.

In addition to Feige's revelation about the movie production, he stated that Iron Man is ageless, meaning that even though superheroes usually just maintain a specific age, they could form another movie which features the storyline of a younger or older Tony Stark. Just like Superman and Batman, Tony Stark could be played by various actors in the future. Can you imagine "Iron Man" being portrayed by anyone other than Robert Downey Jr. himself? What do you think about this news?
