Back in The USA
Carrie Mathison (played by Claire Danes) has return to New York after spending some time in Germany. Peter Quinn (played by Rupert Friend) survived his ordeal but his injuries caused some changes in him that strained his relationship with Carrie. The added domestic pressure of taking her daughter may cause her to stop working for the Central American Intelligence (CIA), according to EW. Carrie will instead work for a non-profit organization that raised awareness about the on-going of discrimination of Muslims.
US President Is A Female?
The timeline of "Homeland" Season 6 will take between the US Presidential elections and the winner's inauguration, according to IndieWire. The show runners announced that the US President in the upcoming season will be a female regardless of the November election outcome. The timeline presents a very interesting situation as a new administration is preparing to take over while the old one is still finishing up its affairs.
Interestingly, the producers teased that the female US president will not be modelled entirely to the Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. The fictional Commander in Chief will also display some Donald Trump-like quality and some shades of Bernie Sanders as well. They may add some
The Agency's old warhorse, Saul Berenson (played by Mandy Patinkin) is also coming back. He has become more devoted to the CIA than he has ever been. The upcoming season will again explore the working and personal relationship of Saul and Carrie.
"Homeland" is guaranteed to last until Season 8 although the show's co-creator Alex Gansa hopes it can last beyond that. The last season though will probably end in Israel since it was the place where the show began according to Gansa. Production is currently underway in New York. Expected air date premiere is on January 15, 2017.
