PlayStation 4 Pro and High Dynamic Range display support will now be available for "The Last of Us: Remastered" with the latest update. The HDR support comparison shows differences in environment and more.
According to the official forums of NeoGAF, game studio Naughty Dog has suddenly launched patch 1.7 for the PlayStation 4 remaster of the video game. The latest update adds the support for HDR display, PS4 Pro, and it has also improved the quality of the stereo audio. HDR support will grant players the opportunity to try it out on a normal PS4 rather than having the PS4 Pro upgrade.
Several members of NeoGAF have taken screenshots of the video game after they have applied the latest update in their PS4 consoles. With the HDR feature on, the clouds in the game look more realistic and it has more form compared to the one that is turned off. Players can also clearly differentiate the dark and bright areas of the environment despite the heavy fog in one of the scenes in the game.
Another shot was taken in another one of "The Last of Us: Remastered" scenes. The lighting was very similar to what people would see in similar conditions in the real world with the HDR feature on. Players would see the life-life shadows and colors that would almost be similar to the ones in the real world compared to the fictional version without the HDR feature on.
Some players could not get a similar look that others could get with the HDR feature turned on. One member advised that they would have to go to their PS4 settings and turn on the Full RGB for the feature to work properly. He warned that if it was not turned on, it will be on automatic, and it will stay in a limited color range.
According to the official site of Reddit, the latest patch is about 350 MB, which means players will not worry about a long download time. They only need to free at least 400-500 MB of space in their PS4 console for this download.
