Snapchat, the popular application that reinvents the way we take pictures, looks like it is silently taking steps to take the place of your regular home televisions.

A job listing that is posted for the parent company of Snapchat, Snap Inc, states that the company is in search for development managers for its "original shows" and that means someone who is capable of pitching and generating new and original concepts for shows, review pilot programs and someone who will be working with external producers and media partners. The job posting also indicates that the aspiring manager should have at least seven to ten years of experience in the video development and the development of shows in categories like entertainment, music, lifestyle and sports.

Considering the job listing, it looks like Snapchat is eager to move from a platform of being a camera company into a social media powerhouse that creates its own content through mobile TV.

Snapchat has been recently establishing partnership with networks that provide entertainment programming as well with broadcasters to air live sporting events just like the recent Olympics which attracted nearly 50 million viewers on its first week. In August, Snapchat also made partnership with NBC for the development of the episodes specific to Snapchat from their hit shows such as "The Voice", "Saturday Night Live" and "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon."

It was a process that took two years to court the network and develop the show ideas, according to Mashable.

According to a source, Snapchat is on its way to creating a mobile TV that is designed to cater to the audience with short attention span. It has already been bugging some of its Discover partners such as MTV, so that they can start with the development of Snapchat specific programs.
