The last "Hunter X Hunter" episode was aired on September 2014. However, there are rumors that the upcoming season 3 was either put on hold or cancelled.

"Hunter x Hunter" Anime Put On Hold?

Fans of the anime show were disappointed when rumors about the show's cancellation started appearing online. But what is the basis of such rumor? It seems the "Hunter X Hunter" manga version was put on hold again. Yoshihiro Togashi, who is both the creator and artist of the manga series, is also quite old and needs to take long periods of rest because of his poor health.

This is not the first time Togashi took a forced vacation for health reasons. Rocket News reported that the manga creator recently resumed work last March after almost two years of rest. However, after around three months on the job and 11 episodes for "Hunter X Hunter," he is once again taking a leave of absence.

Unfortunately, there is no news yet on when he will come back. Togashi may be too sickly to continue with the manga series, but his wife, Naoko Takeuchi is reportedly doing some work on "Hunter X Hunter." Takeucho is also the creator and artist of the "Sailor Moon" manga.

Studio Pierrot to Continue Season 3 On Its Own?

"Hunter X Hunter" anime show producer Studio Pierrot is determined to start season 3, according to MNR Daily. Pierrot has decided to hire several anime artists to make sure that the upcoming shows proceed as planned. It is has also been reported that the "Dark Continent" story arc will be featured.

Pierrot's effort to deliver the "Hunter X Hunter" Season 3 will be highly appreciated by fans. However, there is no set date as to when the upcoming season will be aired. But considering that it has been two years since the last episode was aired, the show's avid fans can wait a little longer.
