The best is yet to come for Samsung after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco because the 2017 flagship smartphone of the South Korean company is shaping up to be the phone to beat in the next years to come. However, one question still lingers: Will Galaxy S8 surpass the performance of the well-received Galaxy S7? The answer will be revealed in the following comparison.
Starting out with the display, the presumed Galaxy S8 is said to sport two screen sizes with 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch displays, the same screen sizes with Galaxy S7. However, according to Digital Trends, the upcoming smartphone is not likely to have an Edge display and will opt for regular ones.
Galaxy S7 is dubbed as the smartphone with the best camera with 12MP resolution for the rear and dual-lens 5MP front camera, whereas, the Galaxy S8 is rumored to feature a dual 12MP + 13MP camera similar to iPhone 7. For this matter, Galaxy S8 camera specs seem to have an edge compared to its predecessor.
As for its internal specs, Galaxy S7 has 32GB memory with storage expandable up to 256GB, powered by a battery capacity of 3600 mAh (EDGE) and 3000 mAh (Regular) and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the operating system. On the other hand, Galaxy S8 is rumored to run the latest Android 7.0 Nougat with larger battery capacity and enhanced artificial intelligence services.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date
Following the pattern of smartphone launching of Samsung, the South Korean company is likely to release the Galaxy S8 during the Mobile World Congress happening in February 2017. According to PC Advisor, Samsung is not in a hurry in releasing the device earlier; this is to contradict the previous rumors that Galaxy S8 will be released before the holiday season of 2016.
