Xiaomi Redmi 4 is approved for launch - sporting better specs than the predecessor, Redmi 3.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 specifications in TENAA

The buzz around Xiaomi budget phones seem to never end. Another leak indicated that the Redmi 4 will be released soon. The phone will get its green light from TENAA, a Chinese certification for telecommunication device, GizmoChina reported.

The listing showed off the phone's specifications, including a 5-inch screen, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Redmi 4 is powered by Snapdragon 625 and an octa-core processor. It sports 13- and 5- megapixel rear and front shooters, respectively. Redmi 4 will run on Android Marshmallow and will also be sporting different components such as the fingerprint sensor.

However, don't expect the upcoming phone to have MIUI 9 on top of its OS yet, because it is only for the latest version. Check out which Xiaomi phones will get Android 7.0 Nougat update here.

The rumors about Redmi 4 have been circulating through the web for awhile. In August, an alleged image of the phone showed up on Weibo, according to Android Community.

Comparing the upcoming device to its predecessor, Redmi 4 is a slightly refreshed phone with better processor and RAM. Redmi 3 sports an older chipset, Snapdragon 616, and smaller RAM space of 2 GB. However, reports hinted at two color variants, Silver and Gold, but no mention of Dark Gray.

Judging from the average specs, it is not a cutting-edge smartphone like the bezel-less Mi Mix and it could be sold at below $189 pricepoint.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 release date

Xiaomi has been flooding the market with its flagship phones, including the recently launched Mi 5 dubbed as the cheap Galaxy S7. While both devices aim at upper class users, the Redmi 4 could be the mid-range budget phone just like how its predecessor is classified. Xiaomi is expected to launch Redmi 4 in November.
