AirServer, the company that essentially transforms console and mobile phones into an AirPlay server, now allows the availability of AirServer for the Xbox One after its recent update. In the past, Apple's AirPlay feature made it possible for iPhone, iPad and Mac users to stream video and audio from their devices to Apple TVs and other supported devices.

The recent update gave Xbox One players the ability to stream audio in the background from their iOS devices or Mac while using Xbox, or alternatively, mirror the entire display to stream mobile games or video to the big screen, 9to5Mac reported.

In the AirServer website, the application specifies that Xbox One can bring multi-room AirPlay audio support through a set of AirPlay speakers connected with iTunes.

Through AirServer's already popular screen mirroring capabilities for sending content from one device to another using various standards, AirPlay transforms Xbox One into a high performance receiver where users can mirror their favorite games or apps with buttery smooth performance.

Similar Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad and Mac have already been touched by AirPlay during its previous updates. Now, Apple allows iOS device users to AirPlay photos and videos to a second-gen Apple TV or later, or music to an Apple TV, AirPlay speaker, or AirPort Express. Users can also mirror the entire display of their iOS device to an Apple TV for full viewing of games and movies.

Together with the update, AirServer for Mac, PC, and Windows 10 now supports Google Cast receiving capabilities free-of-charge to all the application's existing customers. AirServer also lets users transmit via Google Cast and Miracast.

Pratik Kumar and his wife Kristín ósk óskars founded "App Dynamic," the creator for AirServer, in 2011. AirServer is a European success story, gaining worldwide market leadership in screen casting solutions, which caught the attention of students and professors with its core focus as a tool for classrooms.

Now, AirServer marks the pioneer in screen projection technology and supports all 3 major industry standard protocols in screen mirroring: AirPlay, Miracast and Google Cast. Its main software architecture is to transform any computer or application into a universal mirroring receiver.
