Your favorite celebrities, artists and even entrepreneurs have attended HBCUs. Here are some celebrities that enrolled in notable universities, some with full scholarships and even majors that you would not have thought they have taken.

Samuel L. Jackson

Tenured actor Samuel L. Jackson graduated from Morehouse College in 1972. He has an impressive line up of movies since the 1990s and still continue to show up in films until now. Many remember his work in "Pulp Fiction" and his appearances in the "Die Hard" films. His latest work was in "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" as one of the antagonist.

Oprah Winfrey

Television celebrity, Oprah Winfrey, attended Tennessee State University. She had a full scholarship and took speech communications and performing arts as her major, cites EURWeb. She was able to use her knowledge towards her television shows, various business ventures and media projects.

Spike Lee

Director Spike Lee has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication. He graduated from Morehouse college, like veteran actor Samuel L. Jackson. He started his career as an undergrad while filming a student project. Now, he owns his own production company and has made a name for himself in his various movie works. He currently owns the production company 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks.

This rapper hails from A&M University. He entered on a full scholarship and graduated with a business administration degree. Not only is he an American hip hop recording artist, he is also an actor, film producer and poet from Chicago, Illinois

2 Chainz

Another rapper that hustled his way through higher education is 2 Chainz. He graduated from Alabama State University with a 4.0 GPA. He also enrolled on a full scholarship.
