Brooklyn Nets' new point guard Jeremy Lin decided to surprise fans but his trick horribly backfires as one fan suffers heart attack when he came out from his hiding spot.

Lin decided to introduce himself to the Nets' fans and leave a good impression since he just signed in for a three-year haul for the team in July. In the hopes of building a good aura between him and the Brooklyn Nets' fans before he takes the court this season, he decided to throw a surprise gimmick with his publicists. But everything just went backwards because fans were shouting profanities, throwing stuff, and just plainly scared at him, NY Daily News reported.

The good news is it's just a prank that Lin picked up with Comedy Central. No one actually meant to throw stuff at him or shout profanities at him or suffered heart attack on his behalf. The purpose for the stint is nothing else but to poke fun at fans of the NBA team.

The Chinese-Vietnamese NBA player played five games pre-season and he's already a hit in Brooklyn, making him the most popular player who's ever worn the Brooklyn Nets jersey. In 2012, the player brought in the Linsanity player in the Big Apple, which arguably made him the biggest player in NBA in the Big Apple, Fox Sports reported.

But it was brief and over the last three seasons, the player went from one team to the other. This time, however, Lin believes he has one more shot as Brooklyn Nets gave him the go to lead and run the team to victory.

With Lin is first time NBA coach Kenny Atkinson who said the player came off the bench last season and did an excellent job. But fans are wary because Lin is the only one who has talent in the team. So the expectations for him are very high.
