ByThe presumed iPhone 8 is said to be shaping up for its rock star launching as Apple celebrates its 10th iPhone Anniversary in 2017. Latest leaks and rumors about iPhone 8 describe how Apple has done its works of magic on the anniversary phone.
Check out the latest leak specs and features here.
Redesigned Home Button
Removing the physical home button is believed to be one of the biggest changes that can be seen in the presumed iPhone8. Though this technology is already available in the newly launched iPhone 7, an enhanced virtual home button is expected for the anniversary phone. The Touch ID sensor is believed to be integrated on the virtual home button.
Functionalities Embedded on the Display
Apple has reportedly received a patent for embedding light sensors in the display. This technology aims to be applied not only to the light sensors but also the camera and earpiece to be embedded directly on the display without affecting the touch screen functionality, according to BGR.
A Touch ID sensor is also expected to be embedded directly to the display, which allows the user to gain access to the phone through the use of fingerprint sensors that will automatically verify the log-in details of a certain user.
Bezel-Free Display
Bezels are nowhere to be seen in the next-generation handset of Apple. Since the home button, camera, ear-piece and light sensor are targetted to be embedded on the display, iPhone 8 is perceived to be a bezel-free phone. For this reason, the screen display of the iPhone can be extended down past the Home Button.
Furthermore, iPhone 8 is rumored to feature a flexible OLED display that will replace the traditional backlighting used in LCDs. According to Mac Rumors, Apple is currently negotiating with Samsung for the production of OLED displays and is perceived to be investing in AU Optronics, an AMOLED suppier.
