A Weibo user has spread information about the differences between the Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
While both phones will have curved screen edges, the Galaxy S8 sports a single rear camera, and a 5.1-inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED screen. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will have a dual-camera, and a 5.5-inch 4K SuperAMOLED screen. The Galaxy S8 will feature Viv AI assistant developed by Samsung, which gives a good rival to Google Assistant.
The expected release date for Samsung Galaxy S8 is on Feb. 26, 2017 in the United Kingdom. Although the exact release date information has not yet been revealed by Samsung, an analysis from PC Advisor UK has identified the said date based on the pattern that they have seen. Galaxy S was launched on March 2010, Galaxy S2 on February 2011, Galaxy S3 on May 2012, Galaxy S4 on March 2013, Galaxy S5 on February 2014, Galaxy S6 on March 2015, and Galaxy S7 on February 2016.
As per the date above, Samsung usually chooses the months of February and March as their time for launching new flagship Galaxy S phones.
If this pattern will still be followed by Samsung, it will be certain that the Galaxy S8 will unfold at the MWC 2017. MWC 2017 will happen from Feb. 27 to Mar. 2, 2017. Ideally, Feb. 26 is the best time for releasing their flagship phone.
Meanwhile, Samsung faced problems related to the explosion of Note 7 recently, Inquirer reported. Therefore, to gain the trust of its fans, Samsung may pack the Galaxy S8 with a powerful hardware that is mobile VR-ready. The Galaxy S8 is rumored to have removed the Home button, while its fingerprint scanner is now integrated into the screen. The screen is said to be curved on all edges, including its top and bottom parts.
