There are a lot of gadgets available in the market today. Google has recently unveiled its new flagship Google Pixel phone which is believed to be a rival to Apple's iPhone 7.
It was previously reported that the Google Pixel phone has a smarter assistant that can help college students. With this, students can set reminders for project deadlines and ask for directions. It is claimed to be smarter since it understands your conversation.
Another key feature of the Google Pixel phone is the quick charge which is rumored to allow for seven hours of use with just 15 minutes of charging. Its unlimited cloud storage feature for videos and photos is also beneficial for students.
The Week collated a list of the different features and specs of the Google Pixel phone and Apple's iPhone 7. Check out the features below to see which one is best for college students.
1. Design
It was noted that the iPhone 7's design has "barely evolved" in the last years. However, the Google Pixel phone looks similar to Apple's device with its aluminum casing with rounded edges.
The Pixel is also a bit taller, wider and heavier than the iPhone. Apple's removal of the headphone jack could also be an important factor for students in choosing which phone to buy. The iPhone 7 does come with an IP67 water and dustproof rating while the Pixel only has an IP53 rating.
2. Display
Both devices come in two sizes: a standard and a phablet-style size. Google Pixel has a larger display than the Apple iPhone 7, though. It also uses AMOLED technology and has a full HD display, with 1080 x 1920 resolution.
3. Hardware
The iPhone 7 has Apple's latest A10 Fusion chipset with 2 GB RAM in the standard size and 3 GB RAM in its Plus version. The Pixel, on the other hand, has a Qualcomm chipset with the new Snapdragon 821 chip. It has a higher RAM size at 4 GB for both sizes of the phone.
According to Cheat Sheet, though, Apple's iPhone 7 beats the Google Pixel phone in terms of performance. This is based on AnTuTu's rankings for September which showed that Apple's A10 Fusion processor enables the iPhone 7 to "significantly outperform the LeEco Le Pro 3," which is a phone that has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor found in the Google Pixel phone.
