The Chinese tech company ZTE made known to the public the Axon 7 Mini in early September. Now, the smaller, less expensive Axon 7 Mini is up for pre-order in the United States.

This less expensive Axon 7 Mini, which actually costs a little under $300, keeps the same aluminum unibody design, much like the full-size Axon 7. However, the Android smartphone does take a step down with regards in the specs, Android Police has learned.

The Axon 7 Mini is packed with a 5.2-inch Full HD AMOLED display, 16 megapixel ISOCELL camera, 8-megapixel front camera, 2,705 mAh non-removable battery, Quick Charge 2.0, Snapdragon 617 processor and a 32 gigabyte on-board storage. Also, the smartphone will come along with a USB Type-C, fingerprint reader, microSD support, as well as unlocked GSM connectivity and Android Marshmallow.

As for the experience a tech fan can expect, the Axon 7 Mini smartphone runs somewhat a stock Android OS, which means that a user can easily use the device. In addition, the dual front-facing speakers of the smartphone should sound pretty sweet, with the Chinese tech company marketing them as the highest quality audio experience which is up for grabs in smartphones today, Droid Life reported.

Chairman and CEO of ZTE USA, Lixin Cheng, stated that disruption is not led by the tech company who can deliver the best features at the lowest price, it's about the determination to put the consumer first. Cheng also said that the Axon 7 Mini delivers on both fronts as they listened to consumers who wanted a smaller option to the company's original Axon 7 at a price that many can afford.

The Axon 7 Mini will be available via ZTE, Best Buy, Amazon, B&H and Newegg. Best Buy has a 60-day exclusive on the gold color model. According to the listing of Best Buy, the device should start shipping later this month.
