There have been too many speculations regarding the delay of "GTA 6," but one thing is clear at the moment, it was never really part of Rockstar's plans.
At least not, when "GTA Online" is still earning millions of revenue to this day. While several reports revealed hints on the alleged "GTA 6" were spotted in some of the "GTA 5" maps, Rockstar never confirmed these reports. Instead, they released Bikers DLC.
In a recent feature by Headlines & Global News, in 2015 when the Lowriders DLC was released, "GTA Online" received a massive 5,000 additional players in a day. The 22 percent increase of users have only fueled the idea that, now is not the right time to create "GTA 6." Currently set in the city of Los Santos and Blaine County, fans hope that the next GTA release will be somewhere in the London region.
Meanwhile, Attack of the Fanboy first made the revelation that, "GTA 5" is doing great in the market, hence the absence of the highly anticipated "GTA 6." Also featured, is the twitter post of industry analyst Daniel Ahmed saying, "GTA Online has been hugely successful for Take Two & Rockstar. Net Revenues from GTA products exceeded $700 million over the past 12 months."
His statement is a clear indication that, "GTA 5" continues to grow, even in the absence of new content in the past 12 months. Taking into consideration, the massive amount of the game's revenue, it's quite optional and impractical for Rockstar to create "GTA 6" at the moment. The impressive and continual response of fans on the "GTA 5" can also be related to two reasons; they either love the game or it's the only hold they have until the rumored "GTA 6" arrives.
