Last June, the makers of One Plus released its third handset to the series, which has been highly praised for its high-end specs under a budget price. Now, the mobile manufacturer is rumored to stop its production of the unit to give way for its follow-up devices - the OnePlus 3S and OnePlus 3 Plus.

One of the reason for the production of the new units is that the company is finding it difficult to keep up with the demand and delivery times of the OnePlus 3. GameNGuide cited that the company is sometimes exceeding four to five weeks in delivery, so one of the supply chain sources confirmed that OnePlus is actually halting the production of OnePlus 3.

Moreover, OnePlus CEO earlier suggested that the company wants to focus on just one smartphone this year, so it is also possible that the company will just release the new OnePlus 3S model instead of producing the old one.

Furthermore, another reason for releasing a new model could be to shift from AMOLED to LCD panels, as AMOLED supply shortage seems to be one of the big reasons why OnePlus 3 was unable to keep up the production in tune to the demand.

Meanwhile, Based on Gizmo China, the company plans to change the CPU inside the OnePlus 3S and OnePlus 3 Plus into the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 chip, a newer processor that is 10 percent faster than its predecessor. This chip is applicable to Google's new Daydream VR platform that recently appeared inside the new Google Pixel.

While the display of the rumored devices might be somewhat inferior to the ones being used in the OnePlus 3, the OnePlus 3S and OnePlus 3 Plus will purportedly feature updated internals and a bigger screen, particularly 1440X2560 resolution, a screen size of more than 6-inch good for entertainment purposes. Thus, despite the lower screen quality, the device would be more capable and larger than the company's current flagship.

If the speculation towards the production of OnePlus 3 Plus is true, the device should include a 6GB of RAM, a 3,900 mAh battery and a dual-camera setup that offers clearer pictures and faster focus.
