An Australian redditor named Wooparse has mistakenly received his pre-ordered Google Pixel phone from Telstra a week ahead of its release date. But there's a slight disappointment on his part when he began to unboxed the Pixel phone, which he called a "premature new phone."

Google Pixel Phone Review

Due to a postal mixed-up, the redditor has received his pre-ordered Google Pixel phone ahead of its scheduled release date, wherein the Australian carrier company Telstra has accidentally mailed to him the pre-ordered phone.

When Wooparse unboxed the received Google Pixel phone, he was quite disappointed on the internal storage, which was supposed to be a 32GB model but has been down to 29.7GB during the purchase, according to Mashable. Aside from that, he was also disappointed upon learning that there are no extra Google apps pre-installed on the phone, and just received an installation invite for Allo and Duo.

His hands-on thoughts on the phone's specifications, including display, battery, camera and storage, were overwhelmed with questions and comments from the tech fans who also pre-ordered Google Pixel phones. He only said that due to the volume of queries in a day, he cannot promise to get to them as soon as possible.

Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X Still the Best

Google Pixel phones are positioned under the high-end smartphones and often referred to as world-class phone, according to Telegraph. But some developers kept choosing the Nexus lineup over the Pixel phones due to the open-source nature and unlocked bootloader feature in Nexus phones.

When it comes to pricing and availability, it is apparent that Google Pixel phones are no match to Nexus 5X and 6P. At the time when Nexus 6P 32GB model was released, the price was $500, way cheaper compared to Pixel XL $769 price tag. Nexus 6P can be pre-ordered from third-party retailers such as Newegg and Amazon, while Pixel XL can be purchased exclusively from Google Store, Verizon and Best Buy.
