Xiaomi to Equip New Variant of Mi 5 (or Mi 6) with Helio P20? Flagship Coming with Larger Screen [LEAK]
ByXiaomi just released Mi 5s and a recent leak indicates that the Chinese smartphone maker is planning to launch another series in the family. Will we see a new series of Mi 5 or Mi 5c or probably Mi 6? Here's what we know so far!
A Xiaomi smartphone's specifications leaked on Weibo
Recently, an image leaked on Weibo shows an alleged Xiaomi smartphone in hand. The display indicates the full list of specifications of the upcoming phone. It states octa-core Helio P20 as the processor paired with 64 GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM, GizmoChina reported.
Going further with the details, the handset runs Android 6.0 topped by MIUI 8 interface. It sports 5.5 inch screen with 2.5D glass. On the back black-colored panel, a camera houses the top left part with LED Flash on its side.
However, the security patch was dated in December 2015, which makes the phone a little bit outdated.
Xiaomi Mi 5c or Mi 6?
The Weibo user who leaked the image says that the pricing could be similar to Mi 5s. If rumors are to be believed, then it would be a dealbreaker because potential users may want to consider a smartphone powered by Snapdragon 820 instead of settling with Helio P20.
Xiaomi uses Mediatek Helio chip on its Redmi Note 2 (Helio X10) but the third generation of Redmi Note is powered by Snapdragon 650 processor, according to GSM Arena. If the new addition will come to fruitition, it would add more series with only slight differences from one to another.
The current speculations point at a new budget-friendly Mi 5 phone series or its successor, Xiaomi Mi 6.
