Whether or not Microsoft will unveil Surface Pro 5 is a mere talk at this point in time. Nevertheless, rumor mill has not ceased churning speculations around Surface Pro 5's release date, specs, price and features.

Microsoft recently announced a Windows 10 event, which is slated to take place in New York on Oct. 26 at at 10:00 AM ET, Engadget reported.

According to TheVerge, the purpose for the upcoming event is to give users a sneak peek at the company's plans for the Windows 10's future. Aside from tackling Windows 10, there is no confirmation yet regarding on what other products the Redmond-based tech giant would unveil during the event; however, rampant rumors suggest that the company will launch an all-new Surface desktop. Another possibility is that Microsoft could launch the Surface Pro 5.

It's worth noting that several tech gurus speculate that the company would wait until 2017 to release the Surface Pro 5, citing the fact that it's too early to put Intel's next-gen Kaby Lake processors and chipsets into the highly anticipated device.

Surface Pro 5 Release Date Rumors

Next possible Surface Pro 5 release date is said to be this Oct. 26. If rumors doing rounds are anything to go by, Microsoft could have more than one new Windows Surface in the offing.

Microsoft launched the Pro 4 in October 2015, and several publications at the time claimed it's unlikely that the company will unveil an updated variant a year after its release. Apparently, they were all right.

Surface Pro 5 Specs & Features

Rumor has it that the much awaited Surface Pro 5 will be up for grabs in three different sizes that includes the 27-inch, 24-inch and 21-inch variants.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to pack a robust battery, coupled with Intel's seventh gen Kaby Lake processor, and will sport 16MP primary and 8MP secondary cameras. The Pro 5 will come with 16GB of RAM and USB Type-C port that facilitates data transfers and makes charging faster and easier.
