Oct. 3 is an official fan-made holiday for all of the "Mean Girls" fans. Although the movie was released way back in 2004, Lindsay Lohan and Jonathan Bennett still celebrate the post-Mean Girls Day on FaceTime for a mini-reunion.
The two stars still communicate, as it can be clearly seen through a screenshot in Lohan's Instagram account. The Oct. 3 holiday originated from a math class "flirting" scene in the movie when Cady (Logan) was asked by Aaron (Bennett) about the date, Yahoo! reported.
Fifteen years after the release of "Mean Girls," fans still celebrate the significance of the date every year on social media. This year, although Lohan and Bennett celebrated "Mean Girls" day three days late, this has overwhelmed the minds of every "Mean Girls" fan in every part of the world, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Bennett previously said in an interview that he doesn't have plans on going into social media for the celebration. Reports from EW support this claim when he was interviewed earlier this year to ask about his plans for Mean Girls Day. He said that he would wear all pink and would watch "Mean Girls" with Lacey Chabert, who played Gretchen Wieners in the movie, the whole day while the latter asks him what day is it in every five minutes.
Then Bennett admitted that he will just stay away from social media and keep his phone off to prevent it from blowing up. He continued on saying that there is a ridiculous amount of people and friends texting him, like a second birthday. The "Submerged" actor also said that it is so fun to watch what people come up with. Some people aren't into it, when they're part of something iconic like that, and Bennett would say that it is a part of their history and that don't have to run away from it.
