Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 vs Redmi Note 4: Hardware and software

Redmi Note 4 is powered by Mediatek MT6797 Helio X20, while Note 3 sports Snapdragon 650. Note 4 has more CPU cores which contribute to higher clock speed.

Both Xiaomi devices offers two variants. Note 4 Standard edition is equipped with 16GB storage capacity and 2GB RAM, while its High edition sports 64GB ROM and 3GB RAM. Note 3, on the other hand, features 16GB ROM backed by 2GB RAM for the Standard edition, while its High/Special edition boasts 32GB storage capacity coupled with 3GB of RAM.

On paper, the benchmark scoring would make Note 4 the winner; however, the latest test done by PC Advisor shows that Note 3 is much faster.

Xiaomi does not bother to upgrade the battery significantly in Note 4 as the flagship gets 4,100 mAh capacity, which is only 50 mAh bigger than what Note 3 features. Both sartphones feature fast-charging battery, wherein it only takes an hour to charge 50 percent of power, NDTV reported.

The successor device is relatively new and the processor boasts more power for the phone's performance, although the camera downgrade may be a dealbreaker. The spacious RAM makes the phone a better choice than Note 3, albeit not significantly differ.
