PlayStation News & Update: Action Game 'Thumper' Is Now Live, Three Days Ahead Of Schedule [VIDEO]
ByDrool's rhythm violence game "Thumper" is slated to be released on Oct. 13, but the game is now available as a digital download on PlayStation Store. The game's developer said that the early release is a way to surprise and reward video gamers who have been waiting for quite a long time.
One of the highlights of the launch lineup of PlayStation VR is "Thumper"; however, the rhythm violence video game is not an exclusive, as it will also be available for PC and will be playable on PlayStation 4, even without the use of VR, Game Spot reported.
"Thumper" won't keep up on HTC Vive or Oculus Rift at launch, but the PC VR version is in development and will be up for grabs before 2016 ends. The studio made it known that they've always wanted the video game to be an intense, overwhelming experience but not specifically a VR game. The developer also said that they think the game is amazing in VR, but the best way to play the game is really a matter of personal preference.
"Thumper" is a fast-paced action-packed video game wherein players maneuver a space beetle on a psychedelic descent into a hellish void, and deal with a maniacal giant head from the future. Like the adventure video game "Rez Infinite," the rhythm violence game's gameplay is linked to a backing music track, drawing video gamers into a multi-sensory experience, Digital Trends reported.
On PlayStation VR, video gamers will scream through "Thumper," with an overwhelming sense of speed and physicality. "Thumper's" gameplay is is said to be very well suited to high frame-rate and excellent OLED displays, PlayStation reported.
"Thumper" is available in PlayStation Store for $20.
