After more reports of fire caused by Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the South Korean tech giant is suspending production of its latest smartphone. The major U.S. carriers, such as Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, already made known their own suspension of sales or exchanges of the troubled gadget.

Samsung spokeswoman Jee Hye-ryong stated that the tech company was temporarily adjusting the production schedule of Galaxy Note 7 in order to take further steps in ensuring quality and safety matters. However, the tech giant did not pitch on any remarks that it was suspending the entire production, STL Today reported.

Meanwhile, announcements from the major U.S. phone carriers indicated that they were taking the reports seriously, after at least 8 Galaxy Note 7 replacement models exploded. The publicity alone of the incident is likely to prove deeply damaging.

However, a Samsung representative stated that consumers with original Note 7 or replacement model they obtained after the recall should turn off the device, and intend to find a refund or exchange it for different devices.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Officials echoed Samsung's advice in their own statement. The officials stated that they are continuing to investigate at least five of Galaxy Note 7 fire or overheating incidents that has been reported since the formal recall was publicly announced, based on the report of AJC.

The chairman of the safety commission Elliot Kaye, said in a statement that no one should have to be concerned that their smartphone will endanger them, their family or even their property. Elliot described the tech company's decision to stop distributing their latest smartphone as the right thing to do in light of ongoing safety concerns.

Anyway, Samsung is expected to figure out what happened with both the original smartphones and the supposedly safe new models. The company needs to win back the customer's trust to ensure a market for the Note 8, Recode reported.
