Microsoft To Launch The Latest Surface PC Along With Xbox-Related Announcements At October 26 Event [VIDEO]
ByMicrosoft will be holding a special event on October 26 to update the press on its Surface devices, as well as Xbox and Windows 10. The tech company's invitations for the event have been sent out to the media.
The American multinational tech company will likely anchor the company's event around its Windows 10 software and the company's tight integration with its cloud-based services. These services allow people to work with their Microsoft account on a number of devices, such as Windows 10 powered smartphones, portable PCs, as well as iOS and Android devices, Forbes reported.
Although the tech company's primary strategy remains focused on software and cloud services, the coverage of Microsoft's launch event is likely going to point towards the latest hardware. The Redmond-based tech giant will be looking to demonstrate a best-in-class computer to show what it believes Windows 10 can do.
However, ahead of Microsoft's event, rumors have been banging up the internet that the company will feature Surface-branded keyboards and a mouse. Microsoft is also expected to display at least one new all-in-one PC in the upcoming event. It has been said that the company isn't planning to refresh its Surface Book devices or even the Surface Pro 4 at the event, the tech monster will showcase gadgets from OEMs instead, The Verge reported.
That being said, Microsoft has already sold their feature phone business for $350 million to Foxconn's subsidiary and a newly formed Finnish firm. CEO Satya Nadella stated that they are focusing their phone efforts where they have differentiation with enterprises that value security, manageability and Continuum capability. Nadella also said that they continue to innovate across devices and on their cloud services across all mobile platforms, PC Mag reported.
More recently, Microsoft formed a new division to focus entirely on artificial intelligence.
