Fans of Nickelodeon are in for a treat, as "The Legend of Korra" is officially coming out with a 20-hour, 8-disc complete series box set on Dec. 13.

It has been over a year since "The Legend of Korra" creator Brian Konietzco revealed the release by posting the cover art for the box set on his blog. A period of waiting after being teased of its supposed release last year is worth the wait.

The DVD box set would retail for $42.99 while the Limited Blu-ray Edition will be priced at $47.99. Both sets will include all four seasons or books of the show, and will also include commentaries for most of the episodes that would also include scene and episode analyses for the cast and crew. The Blue-ray set will include exclusive selections from "The Legend of Korra: The Art of the Animated Series."

"The Legend of Korra" is set 70 years after the end of "Avatar: The Last Airbender," which aired on Nickelodeon from 2012 to 2014 and had 52 episodes in 4 seasons or books.

Fans of the series were shocked when Nickelodeon announced that it was planning to stop airing the series, which led fans to believe that they canceled the series. The creators of the show reasoned that they are moving the rest of the remaining episode and chapter to digital. You may read the details here.

Beginning in Season 3 episode 9, the series streamed through the internet instead of broadcasted on air as announced on its official Tumblr site as well as posted by Korra co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino on Facebook.

The conclusion episode of "The Legend of Korra" became controversial as it depicted Korra and Asami looking at each other face to face as if about to kiss. They hold hands and walk through the portal to the Spirit World.

This final scene left a lot of speculations and controversies in its wake. The predominant argument was if the two have romantic feelings for each other. But since it was the final scene and episode, only theories and speculations abound until co-creators Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko confirmed everyone's' notion in their respective blogs.
