The New York City-based iTheatrics receives the "Standing Ovation Award" from EdTA (Educational Theatre Association) for its innovations in academic theatre. The iTheatrics has long established itself as a leading theatre organization in New York, serving as hub for young theatre artists, agents and directors through its pedagogy.

The EdTA, on the other hand, is a certified awarding body that gives credit to ay organizations that contribute or participate in the process of professionalizing theatre in the academe. Hence, EdTA's executive director, Julie Cohen acknowledges iTheatrics' deserved moment in the spotlight.

Having participated in EdTA's project, JumpStArt Theatre pilot program, fir years, the iTheatrics had proven its command in delivering musical theatre education to the underserved middle schools in America, Broadway World reported.

"We are wholly committed to adapting Broadway musicals for performance by elementary, middle nd high school students, building intuitive teaching resources that would surely make our education producers satisfied, creating study guides and other innovative educational programs to ensure and constantly researching in order to adapt new strategies and sustain our organization in order for the young passionate artists to enjoy more from musical theatre in the future", iTheatrics stated in its mission statement.

Throughout its time, the iTheatrics has built a Broadway academy for young artists, resulting notable productions in the past- Heather, Annie, West Side Story, etc.

Meanwhile, back to the awarding, it was the iTheatrics founding CEO, Timothy Allen McDonald who accepted the "Standing Ovation award". Later that day, he delivered his speech saying, "iTheatrics seeks partners who are forward thinking and passionate about building sustainable musical theatre programs in schools everywhere. We are thrilled to partner with EdTA, an organization that not only pioneered theatre education, but continues to be a leader in the field", Broadway World again reported.

By 2017, iTheatrics and EdTA will have teamed-up for the grand "Junior Theater Festival West", an event that will be celebrated in Sacramento, California.
