Alec Baldwin Perfectly Mimics Donald Trump In ‘SNL’s Trump-Clinton Debate Parody [VIDEO]
ByLast weekend on "Saturday Night Live," Alec Baldwin impersonated Donald Trump in a parody sketch of the recent U.S. presidential debate. Cast member Kate McKinnon impersonated Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton, and though her performance was topnotch and elicited lots of laughs from the audience, it was Baldwin who stole the show.
As soon as Baldwin entered the stage, it was evident that he perfectly impersonated the belligerent billionaire. From the way he walks to the way he speaks, he seamlessly portrayed the way Trump presents his self to the public.
There were lots of laughs from the audience especially when Baldwin copied Trump's penchant for interrupting other candidates. Another thing that the actor perfectly emulated was the candidate's inclination to sprout racist remarks.
According to The Atlantic, whenever Baldwin spoke to Michael Che, who was portraying moderator Lester Holt, he referred to him as either "jazzman" or "Coltrane," and his mimicry of the controversial candidate even extended to Trump's affinity for sexist remarks.
Baldwin's Trump pronounced China in a different way that obviously referenced to a part of the female anatomy. He also brought up Rosie O'Donnell and referred to her as a "fat loser."
But the funniest part of the sketch for Baldwin was when he said that his microphone was broken, which the real Trump actually did say. When pressed about the unfavorable outcome of his part in the debate, the real Donald Trump blamed a faulty microphone for his lackluster performance.
When Baldwin's Trump was called back by Lester Holt after the former tried to leave thinking that he was only supposed to be at the podium for a couple of minutes, the candidate accused McKinnon's Clinton that she destroyed his microphone.
Baldwin's impersonation may have elicited lots of guffaws from the viewers, but his almost perfect impersonation of the Republican front-runner and their parody of the real presidential debate were too close for comfort.
According to SBS, Baldwin's almost perfect impersonation of the mogul was funny but also a bit scary.
