Google ‘Nexus 2016’ Updates: Pixel Phones Will Run Special Breed of Android and it’s NOT Android 7.0 Nougat? [RUMORS]
ByThe most-talked about Google "Nexus 2016" or Pixel phones is about to be launched. New rumors suggesting that the 2016 mobile flagships will not run Android 7.0 or Nougat but it will run Andromeda instead - the OS installed in Nexus tablet and Pixel laptop.
Two days before its launching, Google Nexus 2016 or Pixel phones are surrounded again by rumors that it will not run the latest version of Android known as Nougat. However, no valid reports have confirmed the truth about the rumors and speculations.
Google Nexus 2016 or Pixel phones have two models: 5-inch and 5.5-inch sizes. According to Android Police, the smaller one will be called Pixel while Pixel XL is for the bigger one.
Pixel will feature a super AMOLED display with screen resolution of 1080 pixels and 2770 mAh battery while Pixel XL will feature a Quad Core super AMOLED screen powered by 3450 mAh battery. As added by Android Police, Pixel is the standard among the two with size similar to Nexus 2013 or the Nexus 5 while Pixel XL is almost the same with Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P.
Both smartphones will come in 32GB and 128GB storages (no 64GB storage is available). Three color variants of the phones are expected - black, silver and blue.
On the other hand, a special breed of Android called Andromeda is rumored to run in Nexus tablet (not Nexus 2016 or Pixel phones) and Pixel 3 laptop according to Forbes. The two devices Huawei Nexus tablet and Pixel laptop are slated to debut in the third quarter of 2017.
Google is noted for using two OS for their devices - Android for Nexus phones and tablets and Chrome OS for Chromebooks. The availability of Android apps in Chromebook laptops is pointing to a possibility of having Andromeda as a centralized OS in the future of Google devices.
