Last month, the Xperia XZ was unveiled at IFA along with the compact-sized smartphone Xperia X Compact. While the Xperia X Compact had been already up for grabs from Amazon since last month, it looks like the Xperia XZ is now up for sale in the United States as well.

The pre-order period for the Sony Xperia XZ Android smartphone came to an end as the handset is now available on Amazon for the price of $699 for an unlocked version. Sony Xperia XZ comes in Graphite Black and Platinum color options, but the Forest Blue color option is not available as of now.

The Xperia XZ has already been launched just a few days ago in Taiwan and now it's available in the United States. In case tech fans don't know, the US version of the Android smartphone doesn't sport a fingerprint sensor like the international models, in spite of the fact that this is the case with the other Xperia X series smartphones as well as the Sony Xperia Z5, according to Android Headlines.

As far as specs are concerned, the Xperia XZ boasts a handsome metal build, a Snapdragon 820, 3 gigabyte of RAM, 32 gigabyte of storage with microSD expansion, a Gorilla Glass 4-covered 5.2" 1080p display, a 23 megapixel camera, USB Type-C, as well as the IP65/68 water resistance, based on the report of Android Police.

Sony Xperia XZ also comes along with a 4K video recording, SteadyShot for blur-free image capturing and recording. The 13MP camera is integrated into the smartphone's bezel, which is perfect for selfies and video calling.

However, while the Xperia XZ does have its advantages as being outlined in a review, the price tag of the smartphone will be a deal-breaker for many. As a number of Sony's competing Snapdragon 820-powered smartphones like the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 have been around for a while now, which are much cheaper, Phone Arena reported.
