The user-interface on Moto G4 Plus is quite good with a few functions but there are not many added features you can customize. For those who prefer Stock Android - then this Motorola handset is a good choice.

The two smartphones run Android Marshmallow OS. G4 Plus is powered by Snapdragon 617 whilst the J7 Prime packs Exynos 7870. There is no significant difference in terms of performance as both get mid-range processors. There is also no lag observed on heavy usage as well. However, the Moto G4 Plus experiences heating issues when playing high graphics game as a few users have reported in Quora. Hence, for gamers who would like to choose between the two smartphones, J7 Prime can be a good choice although the performance is not that excellent.

The optics in Moto G4 Plus offers 16 MP and 5 MP cameras. It focuses fast and there is also dual LED flash for the rear camera. The Galaxy J7 Prime offers different specifications, it's got 13 MP and 8 MP cameras with LED flash on both. Samsung brings more camera features in J7 Prime such as sports mode and night mode - all of which are absent in Moto G4 Plus. However, the G4 Plus captures slightly better image quality as the colors look more natural.

For moderate usage, Galaxy J7 Prime offers better battery performance with its 3,300 mAh battery but Moto G4 Plus 3,000 mAh battery features rapid charging.

Hence, the choice depends on user's priority whether to use it for gaming or other needs. However, in many aspects, Motorola Moto G4 Plus shows a better performance and it is priced cheaper, around $202 whilst Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is priced around $280. The J7 Prime is a decent choice for those looking for the brand value.
