Two Zurich University workers have been removed from the school for posting nearly five pictures of severed body parts on Instagram in July.

According to Daily Mail, one of the ghastly pictures shows a female intern from the university holding up a severed human arm. The text above and below the picture reads:

'Greetings from Zurich University Irchel.'

'Let's all give a hand to the hard working lab stiffs at the Uni!'

Irchel is a site that is dedicated solely for the anatomical collection. The pictures were removed several days later. The university said that workers are actually prohibited from taking pictures in that part of the collection.

This gruesome act by an American graphic designer has been called 'unacceptable, disrespectful and depraved'.

Every year, more than 70 bodies are donated to the University's Medical Science department, which serves as an important learning tool during the training period.
